Dear Valued Customer,
Please be advised that alloys supplied by NGK Metals Corporation do not fall under EU 2023/956
Regulation establishing a carbon adjustment mechanism (CBAM). The CBAM initially applies to
imports of certain goods and selected precursors whose production is especially carbon intensive and
at most significant risk of carbon leakage: cement, iron and steel, aluminum, fertilizers, electricity
and hydrogen.
NGK Metals anticipates that at a future date the regulation will be expanded to cover copper alloys and
is monitoring developments with the rule to assure compliance with the reporting requirements.
