Statement of REACH Compliance
Dear Valued Customer:
Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals, or REACH, consists of
legislative framework developed by the European Union to manage the risks that chemicals
may pose to human health and the environment. This framework requires industry to register
chemicals used in their products with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
Brown Metals Company does not manufacture any of the products sold, but rather
distributes the products while providing value added services such as slitting, shearing, and
edge conditioning. Our vendors continue to assess and monitor the REACH requirements as
they pertain to the products we sell. As of this date, our vendors have determined that the
products sold to Brown Metals Company do not contain any significant amounts of chemical
compounds on the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) beyond
allowable amounts. Brown Metals Company does not knowingly add any substances on the
Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) beyond allowable amounts.
Therefore, these products are considered compliant with European Union SVHC regulations.
We will continue to work with our vendors to determine how the REACH requirements will
impact our business. When available, updated statements from our vendors will be posted
on our website at www.brownmetals.com/compliance. Please visit our website to read or
