Subject: Control of Radioactive Contamination
ATI Flat rolled Products has active radioactive testing programs which monitor incoming raw
materials and heat samples for evidence of radiation. Our program for monitoring deliveries
of raw materials commenced in 1996 and our program for monitoring heat samples
commenced prior to 2000. Raw materials or heats having radiation levels above normal
background are not permitted to be used. Any radioactive elements present as residuals are
the results of their common occurrence in nature and are at levels not significantly above
background.
ATI Flat Rolled Products’ Radiation Control Program conforms to the applicable principles of
EU Directive 96/29/Euratom.
